David Byasa Steinmetz, is co-author of The Yugas, Keys to Understanding our Hidden Past, Emerging Energy Age, and Enlightened Future. For more than a decade he has been writing and lecturing on the topic of a particular cyclic worldview based on yoga philosophy—the Vedic Yuga Cycles of Time. Together with Dr. Celia Alvarez, he developed and taught an undergraduate study of World Cultures and Consciousness that was offered at Ananda University for the past ten years. He has been a member of the team developing the MA in Consciousness studies at the university and continues to serve as guest faculty. Steinmetz spent 40 years of scientific work initially in observational astronomy and later in optical metrology. He is retired from Xerox Palo Alto Research Center and is author of numerous articles and papers concerning astronomy and optical technology.
