Secret of the Snake Goddess: Ancient Civilizations of Greece, Crete & Santorini
RESERVE BY OCTOBER 25TH FOR YOUR DISCOUNT
What do Snake Goddesses from Crete have in common with Snake imagery in Egypt? We’ll explore this and much more in Ancient Civilizations of Greece, Crete & Santorini.
The Minoan Snake goddess and Egyptian snake goddess like Wadjet and Meretseger share some similarities, including a human-like figure holding snakes. This Minoan figure below, dating from around 1600 BCE (Descending Dwapara Yuga) depicts a goddess-priestess holding two snakes in her raised arms, which may represent a ritual.

This Minoan Snake Goddess depicts a woman holding snakes and is often interpreted as a Mother Goddess. The snakes in her hands represent the renewal of life, and her attire is typical of a priestess and Mother Goddess. What does she symbolize? While some believe she represents a mother goddess and creator, others suggest Minoan images of women with snakes represent priestesses. The Minoan civilization in Crete, often considered the first civilization in Europe, is also said to have been the first matriarchal community—when women were leaders.
The Snake Goddess was discovered in a palace complex on Crete without its head or half of its left arm. It was carefully restored, and is similar to the Egyptian snake goddess Wadjet, or the God Nehebkau, which we’ll see at the Temple of Kom Ombo, on the Nile River.

Egypt Through the Lens Of Yuga Cycles of Time & Luxury Nile Dahabiya Cruise
RESERVE BY NOVEMBER 25TH FOR YOUR DISCOUNT
When you travel with us to Egypt next year, you’ll have 7-weeks of complimentary weekly online classes before we depart. These classes are a great way to learn about Ancient Egypt, the Yuga Cycles of Time, and some of the more esoteric knowledge you won’t get from Egypt’s tour guides.
![two snakes emerging from solar disk](https://anandacollege.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/two-snakes-egypt.jpg)
One of the many esoteric symbols we’ll seen in Egypt. This symbol of 2 snakes emerging from the solar disk, is indicative of the spiritual eye with the Ida and the Pingala. This symbol appears over the entrance to many temples in Egypt. It’s more than just snake protection—it could be a call to “go within” into the sacred inner temple of the subtle spine. Egypt evolved down from the higher civilizations of Descending Treta Yuga, when knowledge of inner power over the material plane would have been prevalent.

Snakelike Kundalini Energy In Ancient Greece and Egypt
![snakelike energy](https://anandacollege.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/sahajasubtlesystem_svg.jpg)
This illustration above depicts the snakelike “energy” of the Ida and the Pingala, along with the yogic chakras.
In yogic terms, Kundalini is associated with snakelike energy. Kundalini awakening can be powerful, the cosmic current or energy within our subtle spine. The circular movement of energy is the Ida and Pingala, which moves around the Sushumna. This energy can be experienced in different ways. We can raise this energy to the third or spiritual eye by devotion and concentration at the point between the eyebrows.
Pingala is the extroverted energy, corresponding to the right side of the body and the left side of the brain. Ida is the introverted energy, corresponding to the left side of the body and the right side of the brain.

Prayers for World Peace
During times of world turbulence, your prayers and positive energy for this planet are very helpful.
We did this prayer every day on our 2023 Egypt tour. We recommend doing this prayer as often as possible, as an affirmation to bring peace to our planet:
Say this prayer 10 times out loud:
Lord, fill this world with peace and harmony, peace and harmony.
Then, say this 3 times out loud:
Lord, fill me with peace and harmony, peace and harmony.
After you’ve done this, you can rub the palms of your hands together about 25 times, and holding them up, chant Om, Om, Om, sending your prayers out into the ether.
Demand To Travel by The One Highway of Realization
We are traveling by many true paths to Thy one abode of Light. Show us the one highway of common realization, where all bypaths of theological beliefs meet. Make us feel that the diverse religions are branches of Thy one tree of truth. Bless us, that we enjoy the intuition-tested, ripe, luscious fruits of self-knowledge hanging from the many branches of true scriptural teachings. In Thy one temple of silence we all sing to Thee a chorus of many-voiced religions. Teach us to chant in harmony with Thy love’s manifold expressions, that our chorus of souls rouse Thee to break Thy cosmic vow of silence and lift us onto Thy lap of universal, immortal understanding.
